Braunton Marshes > American Road

Expecting a fall of migrants this morning due to a change in the wind direction & was not disappointed. On my usual cycle route at this time of year migrant Chiffchaff, Willow Warbler & Blackcap were still falling in while slowly cycling around. Some of these spring migrants were foraging for insects on the ground as well as in the Willows & scrub.

35 Chiffchaff, 36 Willow Warbler, 21 Blackcap, 1 vocal Whimbrel over the Burrows, 1 vocal Common Whitethroat, 1 vocal Sedge Warbler & 1 male Roe Deer (Braunton Great Field)
