Exminster Marshes

Late morning and tide was high so a few waders on the marsh including curlew (c30), black-tailed godwit (c20) and a single dunlin. The spoonbill still, initially feeding close to Station Road but then returned to its favoured roost site. A pair of gadwall were the first I have seen this year on the marsh. First 2 then a further 12 swallows flew north low over the pools. On the estuary 12 redshank and several pairs of shelduck. Lots of singing birds including chiffchaff, willow warbler and blackcap.
