Exminster Marshes

Visit to the southern part of the marshes this afternoon. from Station Road the ruff was feeding with about 10 black-tailed godwits. A little further on a great-white egret flew over (towards Topsham). From the canal bank the pink-footed goose was with several hundred Canada geese on the field between the lagoon and the canal. A fox was quartering the fields near Turf (inside the reserve) and seemed to upset two jays far out on the marshes. The glossy ibis was showing well from the footpath alongside the railway. Another interesting sighting was a female kestrel, male sparrowhawk and marsh harrier all in the same field of view.
