Seaton Wetlands-Colyford Common

14 members of DB attended this mornings field-walk when a total of 45 species were counted.  Birds of interest were the large flocks of Lapwing and (90) Curlew, a single Greenshank, Kingfisher, Water Rail, 3 Egyptian Geese, Kestrel, Peregrine Falcon, Buzzards, (5) Reed Bunting and others. 3 Roe deer were present south of the Tower hide.

After lunch a few members visited Seaton seafront in search of Black Redstart and one was sighted briefly in the boat yard behind the sailing club.  A Red-throated Diver and a flock of 25 Scoter were present on a calm sea a short distance from the shore.
