Met Andy Lansdell at the Skern this morning at about 8.30. Gave the birds a good scanning and here are some estimations of what we saw: 700+ Dunlin - constantly on the move, occasionally disturbed by dog walkers. 40 Redshank, 3 Greenshank, 12 Turnstone, 3/4 hundred Oystercatchers, 1 Bar-tailed Godwit, 2 Knot, 3 Ringed Plover, 30 Curlew, (including 2 colour ringed birds,60+ Pintail. a smattering of Wigeon and Shelduck. A marked lack of Gulls. (3 Common the best) One Great Northern Diver out towards Crow Point. At Westward Ho! one Purple Sandpiper braving the massive surf. We ended up at Heanton Court hoping for the Goldeneye, but no  luck. Then the rain really started!
