Thurlestone Bay / South Huish

Off interest in comparison to Tony's day at Prawle i went to Thurlestone this morning in the hope of seeing some wader and Tern passage and bumped into Vic Tucker and Nick Townsend who had the same idea. Little seen from around 09:00 - 12 :00 however, just 3 Common Terns, 1 Sandwich Tern and 30 Common Scoter heading south-east towards Bolt Tail. No skuas or auks passing. Waders coming into the bay were only about 30 Whimbrel and a handful of Bar-tailed Godwits. There is a flock of c60 Whimbrel that have been around the marsh for a few days. Vic stayed on site and had a pair of Garganey arrive off the sea early afternoon and Bob Burridge had about 30 more Common Terns.
