Rillage Point

6 Whooper Swans flew WSW, cutting inland, soon after dawn at 07.13 this morning. Wouldn't be surprised if they turned up on the Taw/Torridge Estuary or Braunton Marshes later on.

Visible migration comprised 103 Woodpigeon, 42 Redwing, 47 Fieldfare, 10 Starling, 16 Meadow Pipit, 139 Chaffinch, 5 Brambling, 9 Siskin and a Linnet.

Out at sea, a Red-throated Diver W, plus 3 Gannet and a handful of Common Gull & Lesser Black-backed Gull also W. A lone Fulmar had returned to the breeding ledges – the first after their month-long absence moutling at sea – with a few others knocking around offshore.
