Charleston Marsh

Our first trip to Charlton Marsh - plenty of birds to be seen from the hide on the very flooded marsh. Ten Little egret, good numbers of Mallard, Teal, Herring and Black-gull, a Kingfisher, Stonechats, Moorhen, Canada geese, one Redshank and the highlight for us, c.20 Snipe; mostly tucked into the edge of the floodwaters, with 5 amongst a raised, slightly grassy area in the water.
