Axe Extuary

Very quiet. 3+ hours of birding this morning produced not a great deal.

Black Hole Marsh: 8 Bl-T Godwits, 4 Dunlin, 1 Common Sandpiper (on the river), 1 Lesser Whitethroat, plenty of Sedge and Reed Warblers singing.

Colyford Common: flock of 35+ Whimbrel feeding on the marsh, otherwise virtually devoid of birds.

Seaton Marshes: 15+ Wheatear (about 2/3rds female, but also 1 male in full regalia - nice)

A quick stop at Bicton Gardens on the way home produced 1 Redstart (singing from tree top), a few Stock Doves and more Rooks than you could possibly eat in one sitting.

Must do better next time!
