Seaton Wetlands, East Devon.

12 members of DB attended this mornings field walk (East Devon Branch).  52 species were counted by Chris Hodgson with the group being led by Colin Randall.  Water levels at Blackhole Marsh were high with little mud exposed but contained small numbers of waders including a Ruff, Greenshank, 3-4 Common Sandpiper, a Snipe and others.  A flock of c10 Sand Martins flew south while a Kingfisher put in a brief appearance at the Tower Hide. A Kestrel was the only bird of prey seen. Other birds of interest were Green and Gt S. Woodpecker and a female Blackcap.  At Colyford Common water levels were again high but a Greenshank was seen close to the hide.
