North Devon

Andy Lansdell and I were tempted up to Watermouth Cove in the hope of Tim's Wryneck. We didn't see it. Only migrant was one Swallow! Had great views of a Fox chasing a Squirrel at the top of a rocky outcrop. Foxy Fox was out-foxed by the Squirrel! Back to Braunton and walked down the Toll Rd - no sign of the Ibis, but at least 4 Cattle Egret. Precious little else out on the DWT area. Kingfisher and Little Egrets still present. Back to Velator and at least 5 Cattle Egrets seen. Along to the scrape - 2 Ruff and 3 Black-tailed Godwits. I went back and while crossing the field I'm sure there were actually 6 Cattle Egrets! I did a quick tour round the reserve, and by the time I got to the scrape, there were lots more Godwits, so I cycled back along the trail and counted 29.
