Exmouth (Maer Valley)

A tristis-type Chiffchaff feeding in my neighbour's apple tree this evening. Uniform milky tea colour above and off-white below. Indeed, I wasn't able to discern any olive-green tones on this bird at all, thus briefly entertaining foolish ideas of Caucasian Chiffchaff - I must have had too many glasses of wine this evening :-) [sadly no clean white throat or supercilium, so that ruled out that species pretty quickly]

Called softly a couple of times, but I wasn't able to discern the quality of the call above the din of clucking Blackbirds, singing Robins, and wailing Herring Gulls.
