Wrafton

Bit of a Ruff twitch this morning - well for North Devon! - 5 of us! 2 Black-tailed Godwits. Still there at lunchtime at least. On Wrafton Pond now 8 cygnets looking very lovely. Mum seemed to be keen to feed and spent much of her time upside down. The cygnets looked a bit bemused. This evening 2 Common Sandpipers, 4 Whimbrel  (in the Pill between the toll house and the harbour) and lots of Swallows, Sand and House Martins over the marsh. Best were 3 Yellow Wagtails - difficult to see in among the Buttercups and Dandelions. Evening ringing in the reserve the last couple of evenings has produced over 50 Swallows and a couple of Sand Martins.
