Whimbrel at Hartland Quay

Just west of Hartland Quay a flock of nine whimbrel flew inland. One and a half hours later saw a second flock this time of thirteen birds heading along the coastline from Welcombe to Hartland Quay then veering inland toward Stoke. "Many" swallows and house martijns along this stretch of coastline. A few each of wheatear. whitethroat, linnet, stonechat and meadow pipit. And a single kestrel. Homeward @ 6pm a Red Kite at Umberleigh.
