Countesswear - Starcross

Walked the towpath/sea wall/back road again this morning. Of note were:

- along the way, song from seven warbler spp., including my first Whitethroat of the year, and a trickle of hirundines of all three spp.;

- on Exminster Marsh, a residual handful of Wigeon, Teal and Shoveler, two Greylags with the Canadas, the usual Kestrel on a pylon, and, unusually, a Little Grebe on the main pond;

- in the estuary, my first Whimbrel and Sandwich Terns of the year;

- near the Powderham footbridge, a Wheatear and seven Cattle Egrets;

- in Powderham Park, two Egyptian Geese and five Tufted Ducks.

As a bonus, a Stoat crossed the cycle path near the M5 viaduct, and obligingly paused for long enough for us to get a good view of each other.
