South Hams Coastal

South Huish Marsh this morning ~ in the lanes several roadside Yellowhammers, at the marsh a single Sedge warbler, Wheatear and Swallow.

Over to Slapton, several visiting birders kindly pointed out the roosting Night Heron, plenty of Cetti's Warbler activity, two Sedge Warbler, a flock of 50/60 House Martin passing inland over the Ley, the odd Swallow, male Blackcap, Chiffchaff, five Sandwich Tern fishing just off the beach.

Aveton Gifford tidal road ~ two Greenshank, Black Tailed Godwit, Redshank, Little Egret.

Back home at South Brent a male Blackcap in the garden, Green and Great Spotted Woodpeckers and at 18.20hrs this evening what can only have been a Great White Egret flying towards Exeter along over the A38 valley, simply a huge pure white heron seen in the distance.
