Stover Lake

A pre-dawn check for roosting Goosanders revealed just a pair from 06:15 onwards. the highlight, however, was an Otter that swam across the lake at 06:45 to the North Marsh, flushing lots of waterfowl as it went; after working its way eastwards, I lost it in the mist. Well worth the early rise!  Also at least two pairs of Mandarins, Little Grebe, 10 Tufted, noisy Green and G S Woodpeckers.
