Velator etc.

Late morning visit to the reserve today, after two days of bonfire action. Yesterday and today remains of Redwing - perhaps they are underweight and not feeding well in the recent frosts, making them an easier prey item?  Best bird today was a Green Woodpecker - first January record. Still a couple of Water Rails calling, unseen as yet this year. Plenty of Finches emptying the feeders. (or is it the Squirrels?)

Flock of Brent Geese at Crow Point, about 50 birds.
