Around the Exe

Round up from the Exe today ~ drake Green Winged Teal, 100's of Black Tailed Godwit, Teal, Wigeon, Shoveller, Mallard, Heron, Little Egret were some of the 27 species recorded at Matford Marsh.


The flood meadow at the Starcross science lab is worth a visit, nine Greenshank, Oystercatcher inc the ringed Leucistic bird in earlier post, Redshank, Curlew, Canada Geese, Little Egret. Large numbers of Brent Geese and Curlew on the golf course.


On the Exe near Turf a large number of Avocet and an even larger flock of Dunlin flying in over them, one Red Breasted Merganser, good numbers of Curlew and again lots of BT Godwits.

Nine Barnacle geese on the Exminster marsh and a large flock of Golden Plover, a dead Stoat on the A379.
