Exminster
A good day at exminster with lots of birds seen; these included: 100+ hurindines (50+ swallows, 50+ sandmatin and 2+ house martins) 30+ shelduck, 40+ godwits, 2+ shoveler, 10+ teal, 4+ blue tits (including a pair checking out a nest box) 2+ wrens, 5+ little egrets, 2+ herons, 3+ swans and 1 female wheatear.
Highlights were a possible merlin, a bar headed goose with a small group of canada geese (presumably an escapee), seen from viewing platform, and a sneaky little water rail which ran across the road less than 2 metres away from us between our car and another car.
