Exmouth

Orcombe - 0615 - more good spring birding with Derek Carter this morning. A notable steady passage westwards of linnets in small groups and an arrival of willow warblers. Totals include 4+ chiffchaff, c20+ willow warbler, 6+ phyllosc sp, 1 tree pipit, 5+ meadow pipit, 2 alba wagtail, c80+ linnet, 5+ goldfinch, 7+ greenfinch, 4 blackcap, 3 wheatear, 1 redwing, 1 female ring ouzel (present since Tue at least), 1 bullfinch, 4+ swallow, 1 house martin, 3 goldcrest and best bird a dartford warbler, my first spring record for Orcombe and only 3rd ever site record. Also 21 curlew, 4 shelduck and 3 common scoter recorded.

Yesterday migrants on Orcombe included 1 firecrest and the ring ouzel along with 1+ siskin, 30+ robin and 22 phyllosc sp. An/the osprey was fishing off Mudbank at 1710.
