Upper Tamar Estuary

Does this impaled bee indicate the recent presence of a shrike, or are there other explanations? Found by Pru Barnes a few days ago, it follows an impaled beetle found on the same fence last month. Also yesterday afternoon in a wet rushy field in the Weir Quay area, a Great White Egret and a Barn Owl hunted, and today Pru reported a Red Kite.
