Avon Dam at dawn

At Avon Dam this morning 11 red-head Goosanders spent 30 mins preening on the shore before departing at 0733. First double-figure count of autumn. In the photo the second from right bird shows thin white 'eye-stripe' indicative of juv. Also 12 Teal and one Common Sand. Below the dam at Long-a-Traw, two Ring Ouzels (prob ad female and juv) following other September records of four at Emsworthy yesterday and a juv in the Glaze valley on 6th. Spotted Flycatcher below Brent Hill yesterday.
