A beautiful moonlit night, on what should have been the DB Plymouth Branch field visit to Cann Wood, started well with 'full colour' views of a flying female Nightjar over our heads.  Churring started at 9:25 then only managed short glimpses of 2/3 further birds, with a total of 8 heard or seen.  Also family of Tawny Owls were heard begging.  A few Common Pipistrelle bats hunted over.
