The flooded field still has a Black-tailed Godwit, but tucked in closer to the trail was a roosting Spoonbill, and after searching for about half an hour, a smart Water Pipit appeared on the mud. On the pond, the first brood of 7 mallard ducklings was soon very nearly reduced to six, when an incredibly aggressive Coot had a go at one of them, before being seen off by some other Mallards.
