Kingsbridge Estuary

Charleton Marsh / Bay, 16:00-18:20, low tide.

At last the marsh joined in on the recent Little Ringed Plover fest with 4 together at the north end. Also on the marsh 14 Teal, Water Rail and Wheatear. Out in the bay still 28 Brent Geese, single Black-headed and Common Gull and 5 Sandwich Terns. 6 Chiffchaffs in the sewage works and a dozen around the stile leading onto the estuary. Thankfully plenty of insects around this afternoon for them. Crinkle had 2 Spoonbills fly over Charleton Bay and east into Frogmore Creek at midday.

In the hide log book 3 Spoonbills reported for late afternoon on 30/3, a ringed bird reported here yesterday ( same colours as Thurlestone bird ).
