Cadover Bridge to Dewerstone Wood 16th May

Wigford Down gave good numbers of typical moorland species, Stonechat, Linnet, Meadow Pipit and Skylark, with Kestrel, Buzzard and Raven, heard but didn't see Cuckoo.  It was harder in the woods but Great Spotted Woodpecker and a pair of hole nesting Pied Flycatchers were the best.  Back at Cadover were Sand Martins posing on a fence.
