Exeter Canal

Walked the towpath down and back again this morning after the rain stopped. Nothing unusual, but worthy of note were:

- seven warbler spp. with Sedge and Blackcap vying for top spot, and the confused Willow still doing his best below the crematorium;

- five to twenty each of Swift and the three hirundines scattered around;

- fifteen or so Sandwich Terns and a G-c Grebe in the estuary off Turf;

- forty or so Summer-plumaged Dunlin, two Winter-plumaged Grey Plover, a Ringed Plover and five to ten each of Curlew and Whimbrel on Exminster Marsh .
