While we have had fleeting visits of ones and twos in the past and can often hear them in the field behind the house this time of year, a single red-legged partridge has been in the garden over last couple of days and was picking around under the pampas grass early this morning. Presuming its a male as it sat on top of a wall calling late yesterday afternoon in full view from the kitchen.
