Two day South Brent round up

(Thurs 23rd) An early morning walk from Peak Moor Gate out to Glasscombe Corner gave 26 species inc three Cuckoo, Whitethroat, Yellow Hammer, Willow Warbler, Linnet, Skylark, Meadow Pips, Wheatear, Peregrine, Kestrel, Green Woodpecker and Heron.

A walk round my home fields today gave Green Woodpecker, Blackcap including the first female that I have seen here this season, Stock Dove and Song Thrush.

Around the garden feeders a pair of Bullfinch, pair of Greenfinch, male Siskin and the would be Italian Sparrow.

Evening walk from Shipley car park to the Avon dam this evening, Mistle Thrush in the car park, Dipper under the first bridge, four Cuckoo up near the dam a pair either side and another calling on the way back near the car park.

Six Canada Geese seen landing on the reservoir, a pair of Mallard flying up the river and just on 08.30pm a pair of Goosander flying towards the dam.
