Braunton Burrows

Several very vocal & active Common Whitethroat on Braunton Burrows this morning.

Just before returning home a Red Kite flew past at low level approx 150 metres away but  by the time I got the camera out the bag & switched on there were two heading south 500 metres away! (see record shot).

Several Early Purple Ochids.

Forget to mention yesterday lunchtime, our fist ever sighting of a Grass Snake in the garden basking in the sunshine on the pond liner at the edge of the garden pond (It is only a small pond)

Reached for my bins & identified it, then reached for my camera & it vanished & have not seen it since!

It would be useful to have a built in camera that one could switch on & off so when one blinks the eye a photo is taken.
