South Brent / Ivybridge

A walk round my home fields this morning gave GSWP, Green Woodpecker, pair of Blackcap, Chiffchaff , two Stock Dove over, Song Thrush in full song, possible Willow Warbler (on call) and a pair of Bullfinch.

A cycle ride down to Ivybridge and back gave a Red Kite high over the centre of Ivybridge slowly drifting towards Plymouth. From the state of its tail almost certainly the same bird recently seen at South Brent, given the height and poor light it could easily be mistaken for a Black Kite.

At Bittaford a Chiffchaff and Song Thrush, Blackcap and Chiffchaff at Wrangaton.

On coming back into South Brent a pair of Swallow chasing each other over Exeter Road, the first village Swallows for me this year.
