Budleigh Salterton seawatching

16.15 to 19.00

Pom skua at 16.50 attacked a Kittiwake and then sat on sea until 2 Great Skuas past west at 16.58 when it got up and joined them. 3 juv Little Gulls between 18.15 and 18.35 and a Little Tern with Sandwich terns at 18.25. Routine fare in 70 Gannets, 24 Sandwich terns, 2 Commic terns, 20 Kittiwakes (4 juvs), 19 Fulmar and 4 Common Scoter. All heading west.

Budleigh has become a shearwater free zone at the moment - i can only think that the guys at Berry Head have erected some kind of force field stopping them going further up channel or have an infinite supply of sprats!
