Lannacombe Valley.

Relatively sheltered from the easterly wind this morning. 25+ Goldcrests ( 13 caught and ringed ) , of which 6 were " continental birds ". 2 Firecrests ( caught and ringed ). Also present 3 Chiffchaffs, and again today there seemed to be Robins everywhere, " ticking" from the thick cover with some chasing each other around.Difficult to get a count, but certainly a big increase on the local resident/wintering birds. Overhead hundreds of Wood Pigeons moving approx. S.E. ( Not counted ).

" Continental " Goldcrest. A little more pallid than some.
