Matford - Starcross
Multiple stops this morning:
Matford ponds - two Green Sandpipers and several Sand Martins;
Exminster Marshes - a male Garganey, two Barnacle Geese, a Peregrine, two Sedge Warblers chuntering in the ditches near the fisherman's car park, and more Sand Martins;
Starcross, Powderham Park and the Kenn outfall - an Egyptian Goose, two late Pintail and eight Greenshank and two Sandwich Terns. No Brent Geese, Mergansers or G-c Grebes visible in the estuary, so it seems the seasonal turnover has advanced quickly;
In the lanes "inland" from Starcross - the expected Cirl Bunting and R-l Partridge.
Throughout - a sprinkling of singing Willow Warblers, perhaps a week later than normal.
