Torbay coastal

Torquay beach, Livermead end ~ SX907633 ~  150 plus Black Headed Gull, one ringed with a yellow tag ring but disturbance from dogs running loose on the beach prevented the ring details being obtained, Heron, Little Egret, Pied and Grey Wagtails, Rock Pipit, six Mute Swan, three dark bellied Brent Geese.

Marine Parade, Paignton, distant views of a possible Red Throated Diver towards Goodrington, one Great Crested Grebe well out on the sea

Paignton Pier the reported three Eider duck just off the pier Torquay side and one Razorbill.

Young’s Park boating lake twenty two Tufted duck, several Mallard on lake and on the sea, from the sea wall the reported Surf Scoter with four Common Scoter and a Great Crested Grebe in the distance towards Brixham harbour.

Elberry Cove ~ Black Necked Grebe and two Great Northern Diver.

Back to Marine Parade where the three Eider Duck were preening on the exposed rocks, one adult Mediterranean Gull with the twenty plus Blacked Headed Gull and twenty Eight Turnstone.

  

Yesterday (21st Dec) Tiercel Peregrine low and fast over the A38 at the western end of Ivybridge, at Lee Mill a female Sparrow Hawk over the A38 and at the end of the day a female Peregrine came over home and had a too close for comfort look at the contents of my pigeon lofts!!
