Southdown Farm

Short walk from Southdown to Soar Mill Cove produced 4 swallow, 1 house martin, 1 ring ouzel, 2 redwing, c30 chiffchaff and a whinchat. Heard golden plover but no sightings.

For your information Southdown is now empty of a tenant farmer (except for grazing stock) for the winter, therefore, some 270 acres of stubble will be in place until approx March 2019. I have already seen hen harrier there and have had short-eared owl over winter in the past, this is now highly likely.
