Cranbrook, Exeter

A quick walk around Cranbrook Countryside Park this morning produced some expected common birds but nevertheless of interest.  These included 2 mute swan cygnets (a first at Cranbrook for me), 3 Little Grebe on the Big Lake at Stonebarton off Crannaford Lane and a flock of c100 Goldfinch.  Several new, shallow scrapes and an extension to the Big Lake mentioned earlier are under construction and the rough area opposite the railway station has been flailed.  Below shows the new construction.
