Afternoon visit today due to poor weather this morning. Glad to see at least 3 Sedge Warblers in the reserve, one singing, despite the cold. One Blackcap and one Chiffchaff also intermittently singing. Nought of note out on the scrape, until I looked again later - Common Sandpiper and several each of Swallow and Sand Martin. 2 Teal. Back in the reserve my attention was drawn to a bird flying ahead of me and when I got the bins on it I could swear it was a Spotted Flycatcher. If only it had been flycatching I thought. Well as I advanced, that's exactly what it then did, and sat showing itself long enough to confirm the identity.

Walked around Sherpa with the usual results - not much! Dribble of Sand Martins, Grey Heron, Gadwall....
