Bowling Green Marsh

Mid afternoon visit to Bowling Green Marsh ~ not overly busy with bird life but four Ruff and seven Knott in with a good sized flock of Black Tailed Godwit, Heron, a female Sparrow hawk the highlight of the visit was a Peregrine coming over and stooping on the Godwits, a Lesser Black Backed Gull dropped in and gave every impression of having predatory habits as it tried to get close to the very watchful Godwits.

From the viewing platform a first winter Mediterranean gull with a white tag ring on its left leg, five Little Egret, several Redshank, one Greenshank, around the pathway two Mistle Thrush overhead one carrying food in its beak, two Chiffchaff and two Stock Dove.

From the Goat walk 59 Dunlin one Sanderling and three Whimbrel.
