Hawfinches

At St Thomas Churchyard this morning (about 9am) there were at least 11 Hawfinch but possibly up to 15. They were dropping onto the bare ground under the yew trees to feed on what i can only see is yew berry seeds. They were silent and moved around the churchyard from yew tree to yew tree. I saw them from Tin Lane which runs along the back of the churchyard and would have missed them if i hadn't stopped to send a text !
