Garage swallows

For the last 15/20 years a pair of swallows have nested in our garage in Northam. With an average life span of probably no more than 5 years clearly this covers several generations, but as there are normally few swallows in the immediate area, it is likely that a returning adult or prodigy that return. It is usually in the second half of April that the first swallow returns. It was therefore a great surprise today to find two chasing each other excitedly around the garage, especially as migration is later than usual this year, and this is our earliest record of swallows at their breeding site.
