Chudleigh Brambling

After going the whole winter without one in the garden, a nice male Brambling appeared on the feeder and then on my picnic table late this afternoon (I call this 'finch time' - it's when the Goldfinches, Siskins, Greenfinches and chaffinches tend to come in for supper!).  Earlier today, nothing very exciting on my Exe Estuary WeBS section count, but a bit of brightness around midday encouraged dozens of Sand Crocuses to open up by Dawlish Warren Visitor Centre.
