Exminster Marshes

A walk to the Turf late morning coincided with a couple of light showers and during each shower lots of swallows (100s) and a few sand martins appeared. When the tide was high there were about 100 curlew, a few snipe and redshank roosting alongside 85 shelduck. The only other duck of note was a single gadwall.

In Station Road there was a noticeable fall of blackcaps, willow warblers and chiffchaffs. On the canal bank a sedge warbler sang briefly (this bird was present yesterday).
