Velator

Spring moves on - another (or the same?) Small Tortoiseshell this morning. Warm enough for there to be 6 Buzzards soaring high over the reserve. On the pond, now 2 Little Grebes, one of which was being chased (half-heartedly) by a Coot, which in turn was being given a hard time by a Moorhen. 6 Mallards (two pairs and 2 separate Drakes) were soon reduced to a single pair by the male of one of the pairs. No sign of the Geese today. Cetti's Warbler calling again. Looks like the weather will put a short dent in the progress of spring over the weekend, but should warm up again next week.
