Black Redstart and Cattle Egret.

A good birding day, initially down to the Plymouth water front either side of the old Lido pool, six Turnstone, two Rock Pipit and eventually the reported female Black Redstart appeared.

An afternoon trip out with Keith Male to Aveton Gifford, South Huish and the DBWPS reserve at South Milton marsh.

Aveton Gifford ~ All the usual species including Common Sandpiper, Greenshank, Redshank, Oyster Catcher and Little Egret.

South Huish ~ Two Cattle Egret, five plus Snipe, the hybrid American Wigeon in with the Wigeon flock, Black Tailed Godwit, Lapwing, Oyster Catcher, Buzzard, two Raven, two Heron, Little Egret, numerous Pied Wagtail and two Rock Pipit.

South Milton Marsh ~ More Chiffchaff than I have ever seen previously in one place including three Tristis type two of which had been ringed, Firecrest, Goldcrest, male Reed Bunting, lots of Pied Wagtail, one Grey Wagtail and two ringed Dunnock, several Goldfinch, two Buzzard and a Little Egret overhead and on leaving a Water Rail calling.

Back home at South Brent Green Woodpecker calling, Song and Long Tailed Tit.
