Broadsands & Brixham

A great day out started with a stop at Bickleigh Bridge, on the R.Plym, where 30 Mandarin Duck.  A dead lamb on the edge of the moor being scavenged by a Robin!

At Broadsands a Firecrest and a Goldcrest in the car park. In the bay several Great Northern Diver with at least two Black-throated Diver (no reds), Great Crested Grebes, a Slavonian Grebe and several Black-necked Grebe.  At Elberry Cove a Red-necked Grebe catching pipefish. But best of all a Grey Phalarope flew into my scope view and landed in the water at the mouth of the cove.  It only stayed long enough for a couple of ooh-aahs, but not long enough for a photo alas.

At Brixham Breakwater, only four Purple Sandpiper, but lots more divers, two Porpoise and six Grey Seal and a juvenile/1st winter Iceland Gull to finish the day.
