Totnes & Dartington

Totnes ~ Bowden area no sign of the reported cattle Egrets but 7 Little Egrets in the cattle fodder field also a female Stonechat and several Pied Wagtails a flock of 16 Mallard flew over the lower end of the field.

In the cattle fodder field near Lower Bowden a large flock of Chaffinch and a small number of Greenfinch and using the overhead wires for perching some 20 or so Linnet.

Dartington Estate ~ On the road to the deer park a good sized Chaffinch flock which also contained a male and female Brambling, also at the location a male Bullfinch, a Treecreeper, Jay a partly white plumaged Carrion Crow, a flock of 100 plus Redwing, three Buzzards and still a good sized flock of Wood pigeons.

Back at home at South Brent a Treecreeper, Nuthatch, Song Thrush, Redwing, double figures of Chaffinch and House Sparrow. Green Woodpecker, Jay, Buzzard and 3 Greenfinch, numerous Starlings and Goldfinch coming back onto the feeders now that I am using sunflower hearts again.
