White Cheeked Pintail Paignton

A quick run out this morning to Youngs Park in Paignton at the back of Goodrington beach resulted in a no show initially of the White Cheeked Pintail. When some unsuspecting walkers went along the back edge of the main pool the bird was flushed out of the bushes at the back and onto the water. He showed well as the heavens opened and remained there when I left. As Lloyd alluded to in his post the bird fore a grey ring on his leg which might possibly indicate that this is in fact an escaped bird. He seemed to be surviving well amongst the Mallards, Tufted Ducks and single male Shoveler.
