6 Spoonbills out on the scrape early morning. Gone by 9.30. Also there during the morning about 100 flighty Black-tailed Godwits, and later Redshank and Green Sandpiper.

In the reserve 2 Chiffchaffs (one ringed). Found the remains of another Redshank in one of my mist-nets this morning. I suspect Sparrowhawk, and later caught an adult female (ringed in March last year) in the same net! Late on I also caught an adult male Sparrowhawk! 40 birds ringed mostly Green and Chaffinches, but 4 Redwing and 5 Song Thrush were notable.
